Annual Baby's Breath

Description
Gypsophila Elegans ‘Covent Garden White’ also known as ‘Baby’s Breath’ is a lovely cut flower filler. It has delicate white flowers that add frothiness to a bouquet and contrasts with bolder flowers. This flower is easy to grow and will be one of the first to bloom in the spring. Its origins are native to the Ukraine. It has lance shaped grey/green leaves and grows to 45cm tall with a spread of 30cm. Looks stunning in an all white flower bouquet with flowers of contrasting shapes and sizes as well as more traditional arrangements.

How to grow

Light: full sun
Soil type: well drained
Ideal for: bedding,border,cut flower,flower arranging
Sowing: early spring, 3mm (1/8in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart.
Germination: usually takes approximately 20 days.
Blooming period: Early spring through Early Fall

An autumn sowing can be made for overwintering to produce earlier flowers and they can also be autumn sown and grown on in pots in a well ventilated cold greenhouse to produce spring flowering pot plants.
