Ponderosa Pink Tomatoes
Ponderosa Pink is a heavy yielding, open pollinated tomato variety originally introduced by the famous seedsman Peter Henderson in 1891. The Ponderosa Pink Tomato produces large purplish-pink 12 ounce fruits in clusters of 3 to 5 on indeterminate vines. Few seeds, meaty and late maturing. The tomatoes themselves have a sweet and mild flavor with a thin skin, but are somewhat subject to cracking if over watered.
How to grow
Start the seeds indoor 6 to 8 weeks prior to the last frost date. Transplant after 3 sets of true leaves in the garden. Need sunlight for the seedling to grow sturdy, deep watering is preferred, and moist soil with well-drainage. Water directly to the roots. Keep water off the leaves if at all possible to avoid diseases. Plant spacing is 14 to 18 inches apart. Planting season is late spring to summer
